Is it possible?
Is it possible to Love Jesus and Hate Religion? Yes, I think so.
Maybe "hate" is a strong word to use here, but Jeff isn't saying he hates the church or a religion. His message is that 'religion' is viewed as following sets of rules and traditions. What he wants to get across is that we need to get back to the root of it all. Jesus, HIS message, and HIS sacrafice.
This poem, "Why I hate Religion, but Love Jesus" is remarkable and should hit home with Christians and Non-Christians alike. Also, his delivery of the poem is truly outstanding and makes his words truly sink in.
This young man has at least 30 videos posted to his YouTube Channel and I encourage you to check them out. He has such strong testimony.
His message here is something that's been weighing on my heart for such a long time. So many people, particularly Christians get caught up in the "laws" of the church and this breeds arguments and wars. It's so silly. No wonder there are so many non-believers out there.
Who wants to listen to a long list of "wrong doings" and "sins". Churches have so many rules and people are missing the point. Jesus was considered a drunkard in his time. He was scoffed for loving the sinners. He kept company with homosexuals and prostitutes. The point behind that? LOVE. He preached, yes. But he led by example.
It's time to get back to the heart of worship. By loving Jesus and truly accepting Him, we can live in the Holy Spirit and with that there is no need for a written law. Love conquers all sin.
I encourage you to check out the other videos by this young man and pray about the message he has hear. Jesus also said that we shouldn't condemn other Christians for the way that they worship. If a man chooses to not eat meat on certain days, or to wear certain clothing, then we are to respect that, but to not condemn others if they don't worship the same way we do. There is no right way to do it! As long as we do it with the purest of hearts.
The message is simple as that.

Great hub! I love the way you included the video itself and gave readers like myself links to explore this further by reading what Jeff Bethke said/felt after the video went viral.
Voted up.
It is rare to see this topic written about in a way that's respectful and sensitive and trying to foster true communication but I feel you managed to do that in this hub.
The greatest thing Jesus took our place and set us free. It is available free, the price is only faith to receive grace.
This is a fresh message for some, and old news to others. After grasping this and taking it to heart, the next step is putting it into action. Personally, I don't need to pray about this. What I am praying for is how to walk it out.
Will we ever rise to do the work the Lord has given us, or will we keep scheduling other events? If talk could get the job done, then we would be finished by now. When we see community health centers, teeming food banks, vocational training, care for the elderly, homes for orphans, concern for the mentally ill, permanent shelter for the homeless, other kinds of outreach . . . then we will be doing what the Holy Spirit is quietly asking us to do.
I enjoy this young preacher and his relevant message for today. I heard it yesterday, though, so it is time for me to get busy with the task at hand. A little help please, I can't do it alone.
I love your image. Photo, or painting, or what?
JESUS IS THE ANSWER.. HE will lead you in what to do...actually this HUB is good.

Be blessed

Very good hub! I agree we need to be more like Jesus, not just follow rules of the church. Peace!
